Plarail Layout

Anybody else have kids that love Plarail? My son is almost three and was going through some of the toys that mom and dad kept of mine over Labor Day and found a Plarail set that I had when I was little. We played with it for hours! Now I'm going to put my layout on hold for a bit and build him a table top layout for his third birthday thats coming up soon. It has to be something we can pick up and move because our five month old boy is crawling now so this should be fun. Has anyone else done anything with plarail with their kids or for themselves? I think I'm into it just as much as he is!

Blevins,

Great to see the 7 year old is alive and well within you! Should help to have a much happier life!

This will be great for the kids and a lot of fun for you play with.

How about making a modular table system in smaller bits (like 2x4) that you could hook together to make a larger table. Could rest on banker boxes to be low enough for the kids.

I was thinking about that. I have a table top that I'm going to be able to put in the floor and pick up easily. He cares more about running trains than building track right now so its going to be attached to the board and we'll probably add onto it so I'll leave some open turnouts for expansions. The expansion sections I was considering making into modules so they can go in different places. I want both kids to be able to use it when my littlest one is old enough to enjoy it.
