Sorry Nick, I missed seeing this post until today. What a lovely little station. Not only is it small and cramped, but ideally suited to being placed in a corner as well. Good stuff!   :)

It also has an interchange track, perfect for bringing in those freight cars from off layout via the "giant hand" :)

Yes, the connection with the JNR Hokuriku Main Line. Fantastic scene there.

More importantly, the location could be modelled as an Inglenook style layout. One would have to add an extra leg onto the track arrangement to represent the interchange track.
