For those who missed it (my case), Tramway is coming out with another run of TaKi35000 tank cars, with new paint schemes. The one in the link is just one of the new roadnames available; for those who model the steam era, having one (or several, finances permitting) is almost obligatory as the Caltex/JOT "bat" cars were seen just about everywhere in Japan from Kagoshima to Wakkanai and all places in between...

Thanks.  Available late this year or early next year.  Long wait for "mere" freight cars.  But better reserve, these sell out quickly, especially the more common liveries (rather than the oddball ones).  People who buy these are prototype modelers, so they know which types were the most common.

Although if you look hard enough you can still find cars from the previous run. Strangely enough it seems that the beitan version was not very well received...you can find them everywhere...

Like you said, the Caltex/JOT ranged throughout Japan, so it's just more useful for modelers than the Beitan version (and can be used on mixed freight- the most interesting IMO).

Thanks for that Nick, I've ordered some more. Apart from their usefulness, they're lovely models. The four I currently have are firm favourites.
