Sacto1985
YouTube user ato5kgyasetaito recently post an interesting video of the Ocean Liner Satsuma limited stop train service on the Kagoshima Main Line between Sendai (Kyushu) and Kagoshima-Chūō Stations: Sendai to Kagoshima-Chūō: Kagoshima-Chūō to Sendai: Note that despite the presence of full line electrification along the route, the Ocean Liner Satsuma operates with Hisatsu Orange Railway HSOR-100 DMU's built by Niigata Transys, the same DMU's that travel north from Sendai along the Hisatsu Orange Railway route. 1 Link to comment
Sacto1985
ato5kgyasetaito has also posted full-length videos of travel along the Hisatsu Orange Railway between Yatsushrio and Sendai (Kyushu) stations: Izumi to Sendai (Kyushu): Izumi to Yatsushiro: Note that both videos start at Izumi Station because Izumi Station is a transfer point for all trains. 1 Link to comment
Sacto1985
By the way, I have to ask this question: how come Hisatsu Orange Railway didn't get EMU trains? After all, the entire route from Kagoshima-Chūō north to Yatsushiro is fully electrified, unless the company decided to buy DMU's to keep the operating cost down. Link to comment
