JR 500系
I count 46 buses. Thanks! Didn't do a count check, but 46 was right on the pictures. There were some other buses on the layout, and some in their boxes, like the special 2 buses and 5 buses box sets. There's also a Kyosho bus on the layout that is mighty beautiful! now there is an old fashion tomytec collector! have to get the set and the display box! you were bitten deep jr500! jeff Thanks Jeff! I was bitten the day i bought my first Tomytec buses here, LOCALLY, from Sakuraya. Amazed by their insane details at such a small model. To be frank, i started collecting these buses BEFORE i bought my first N scale train. Now i'm so thinking of solely collecting these buses and making a fantastic moving bus layout instead! But that's just a dream.. Link to comment
JR 500系
That's why I love everything Japanese: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du0VpSUat3U Watch this. It's amazing. Even bus drivers has so many safety checks! Also, HS listed this: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10270475 Bus Collection 19! Bet you know who's pre-order this straight away ¬¬¬ :)## http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10270492 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10270493 Two more to the 'All Japan' series. A Tachikawa bus and a Hankyu one. No pictures yet, but it's the same Mitsubishi Fuso Aero Star model so... Pretty interesting on the Hankyu one ¬¬ 1 Link to comment
JR 500系
More buses! Recently received the 3 new Tomytec bus sets from loco1. They look so sweet, especially the Super Komachi livery one! I've yet to try using the BM-03 to run the Hino Selera New model, although according to Tomytec it is not compatible. I think it has something to do with the wheel arches as the Hino Selera New model has slightly more arched wheel arches in the front, perhaps that would interfere with the steering... Will make a test trial soon to see if this is true... Link to comment

1954G
The metallic aqua paint on the Tohoku bus is very eye-catching. Not quite as distinctive as the Girls und Panzer painted bus that JR500 bought awhile ago, though. Link to comment
JR 500系
(Please JR500 Nozomi, would it be possible to convert upside-down the photos before uploading? :) ) Apologizes on that IST. It's really strange because when I upload, the photo is upright. But once I uploaded, it turns 180 degree. I tried then turning the photos 180 so that it is upside down, and tried uploading. Guess what? It still turns out as upside down. Haha! Really strange thing here.... I tried but just couldn't get it to be upright... Thanks 1954G! Yap I like the Tohoku bus too, especially the super komachi colour. Only pity is the Hino New Selera model is not compatible to the BM-03 moving bus chassis, but i'm going to try out to see if it works. The Girls and Panzer is really nice too, but somehow I didn't really liked the 7E bus model it was painted on. The 2nd car in the series is a Mitsubishi, which is really nice, but it's only for HO scale... By far, my favourite bus is still the Enoden model... Really nice and cute painting on that beauty! Densha
Maybe one of the programs you use has auto-reversing stuff included? I once had a program that I used to turn a picture up, but when I opened it with another program it wasn't turned so I turn it with the latter program and it was wrongly turned in the first. Really strange things sometimes... Link to comment
JR 500系
Yes it's really strange. I just uploaded some pictures on another thread and I didn't had to do anything, the photos came upright correct. Perhaps the buses decided to play a prank on me? :) Link to comment
JR 500系
I chanced upon HS site and saw a couple of really good looking buses, N Scale, but not made by Tomytec. It's listed made by Popondetta, really weird, with the category Kyosho. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/list/254/0/1 I know about Kyosho buses, but what's with the Popondetta? Judging from the price, it has to be Kyosho style, being diecast and all. Especially interested in this one: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10276121 I've always wanted a Willer Express bus in N scale since it's highly popular in Japan as it is a comfortable and cheaper alternative to train travel for long distances. And here is a video of the interior, the latest 'Relax Series': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QeDpuPgnWg Makes you feel you're in a really nice business class flight, doesn't it? Link to comment

JR 500系
Still my bus interest flares! Here's a wonderful video showing just how skilled the bus drivers are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfP68fhNryI The bus misses the pole just by millimetres! And that emergency brake on water surface.... Amazing control... 1 Link to comment
Ken Ford
I need a few Kyoto busses, the ones that are light green with the dark green stripes that come to a "cat whisker" on the front, Have these ever been offered outside of a boxed set? I think Tomytec Collection 18 had one. Link to comment

Hi Ken: I believe you're referring to the Green bus with a dark green stripe, the one for 京都市交通局(京都府)? http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/lineup/bus/buscolle18.html There are quite a number of Kyoto local buses around, belonging to series 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 18. Depending on which bus model you would like. I think there are some special 2 bus box sets that were also released in limited editions and quantity, usually only available during shows. I might have some extras lying around if you are interested, I might need to dig around first though. But I don't understand the 'cat whiskers'? I think you're referring to the green stripe on the front of the bus? I believe you need to know the era of the bus which will service the era of your targeted layout, since different bus models serve Kyoto during different timings. Come to think about it, the recent 'All island Bus collection' or 全国バスコレクション that sells these buses for different regions individually, but didn't have one that is for Kyoto... (although the models are all the same: Mitsubishi Fuso Area Star 三菱ふそうエアロスター) 1 Link to comment

If you have spares, that would be great! Link to comment

JR 500系
Is this what you mean? That's the bus, which was only available in a 5-bus box set here: http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/lineup/bus/nishi_n.html Alternatively, you can opt for this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2Z47uX_Gkk This is the 西日本車体工業58MC(B-I)model. Since the video is taken in 2012, I assume this model is still running on the streets now? It is available in the Bus Collection Series 9 - http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/lineup/bus/buscolle9.html Let me find around my spares to see if there's any extra lying around. Alternatively, the seller which Bri posted is selling the But that was n 1984, so it might be a little too old for your layout... Link to comment
Ken Ford
I went ahead and ordered one of the busses Bri linked (thanks, Bri!), but if you find newer busses that are spare please let me know! Link to comment
JR 500系
Apologizes Ken, I just checked, I seem to not have any Kyoto buses extras... Going back to the video bill posted, it seems there were other bus models in there as well (I just based on the thumb-nail picture but didn't watch the entire video before), like the 西日本車体工業58MC(B-I), , 日野ブルーリボン シティハイブリットバス etc. Another source that you might try is Yahoo Auctions: http://auctions.search.yahoo.co.jp/search?p=%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD&auccat=2084259612&aq=-1&oq=&ei=UTF-8&tab_ex=commerce&slider=0 There are a number of Kyoto buses there for sale, but might be abit of a hassle buying them off Yahoo and shipping them to you, not to forget the fees involved... Ken Ford
Thank you for checking! I will keep watching for more, I realistically only need one or two of them. Can anyone tell me the route displayed on the Tomytec 11-05 bus I just bought? Just curious... I'm unlikely to change it. Link to comment

Sure Ken ~ Please refer to the attached picture. The single bus featured in the picture is the one you bought, the And has the destination board written: 銀閣寺 '急行' Or Ginkakuji 'Express' Bus number 100. For fun, I've also attached other Kyoto buses from my collection to show their destination boards ~~ 2 Link to comment
JR 500系
Side note: Tomytec is kinda 'driving' (pun intended for buses :) me crazy with the delays in productions. Firstly, the Toei 5 bus set is delayed again. Was May, then to June, and now to August... http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/lineup/bus/index.html They do look very nice though. Luckily I've pre-ordered two sets for myself ~ Then the delay of the moving bus junction yet again, from May to June to July: http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/items/1311/14_bus04.html Off topic a little, finally we're able to see OTHER models other than the usual Mitsubishi Fuso Area Star for the 全国バスコレクション ... http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/items/1406/26_bus01.html At least it's the Isuzu Erga (いすゞエルガワンステップバス) this time!
