More on Tobu's Nikko tramway on katsu's blog. It shows the track arrangement at Kiyotaki, including the spur into the Furukawa smelter - running around freight cars on that passing track is strictly verboten... :grin also pictures of the car yard at Kiyotaki and more interestingly, of a Tobu car in front of Nikko's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed JNR station. It also shows images of the ex-Usui Pass loco used on freight trains. This would be a challenge to model in N scale, I have yet to see any model of a pre-ED42 locomotive in the market. One could use Fleischmann's rack e-lok as a stand-in, though...

Cheers NB

Oooh, such nice pictures... I'd loved it to have ridden this line from Nikkō station to Irohazaka pass. You just have to love the freight action on this tram line! This makes me want to buy some Tomytec Tōbu trams...
