These hoppers were used to haul coal in Hokkaido. They'll make a nice train behind a 9600 or a DD13 (painted in Mitsui Ashibetsu colours). The wheelsets and couplers are dummy, but I think that substituting them with proper wheelsets and M-T couplers wouldn't be much of a hassle. Trouble is, finding spoked wheelsets that will fit is a hassle...I bought the absolutely last package of World Kougei wheels on the face of the planet and could have done with more...

Too bad - I model (or at least try to) Hokkaido in HO scale!
