how to get to IBI ? freight action

been wanting to find this location for a visit   in western japan

 

what is the best way to get there nearest station etc by road ,rail ,walk !

 

is it on the tokaido main line i presume ?

It is this location on the Tokaido Line, adjacent to the Ibigawa Bridge (western end), in Ogaki, Gifu Prefecture:

The nearest station is Higashi Ogaki on the Tarumi Railway (I don't know the frequencies of service, please check this: http://tarumi-railway.com/timetable-20130316.pdf )

It may be easier to take a taxi from Ogaki Station and have it drop you off near the bridge.  Otherwise it's a 3.5km or so walk from JR Ogaki Sta.

Doesn't Meitetsu (or someone else) run a bus from Gifu? It would be nearly obvious, replacing the tramway...

Actually there is a Meitetsu Bus service from Ogaki Station (the Softpia Line) that goes in that direction, but there is only one trip/day that goes to a stop near the bridge (Higashi machi).  Better off taking a taxi if you don't want to hoof it, or take the Tarumi Rlwy.

And while you're there, head in the other direction to Minoakasaka.
