On the subject of holiday trains, the rinji Nichirin in Kyushu (Oita Pref.), 485 series, properly fitted with their original JNR emblems :

Its not just Hokkaido, BB. Its been the same all over North America.  Finally yesterday, we had a sunny and warm day.  Two weeks ago on April 15th we had freezing rain that became a major ice storm.

Its not just Hokkaido, BB. Its been the same all over North America.  Finally yesterday, we had a sunny and warm day.  Two weeks ago on April 15th we had freezing rain that became a major ice storm.

Ditto for Europe, you don't often see snow in April! The last few weeks it's finally warming up a bit but there were some cold days in between. But spring definitely started now, although one month later than usual. The amount of wind was extreme too last winter, and there's still a lot of wind at the moment.
