bill937ca
The old above ground Shima Kitazawa station was a two level station with Odakyu on the ground and Keio on the upper level. The old Shima Kitazawa Odakyu platforms were replaced by underground platforms on Saturday March 16th. Apparently commuters using the new underground Odakyu station are not happy with the length of the three level stair climb or escalator ride. The second level will not be ready until 2017. One bottleneck appears to have been replaced with another bottleneck. Current Shinjuku bound schedules include 24 bound trains at 0700 hour and 27 trains during the 0800 hour on weekdays. The old ground-level Odakyu platform during a peak period with passengers being tucked in. Keio Inokashira on the upper level at 0800. http://youtu.be/OgC0xjjMT7o A look inside, outside, underground at track level in Shima Kitazawa station including the closed surface station as of 2013.3.23.
