bikkuri bahn
For forum members living in Japan, tonight at 9 on NHK BS premium is a two hour special documentary on Tokyo's underground infrastructure- it appears they will focus part of the program on the recent underground link of the Toyoko and Fukutoshin Lines. Likely worth a viewing. Edited March 20, 2013 by bikkuri bahn 1 Link to comment

bikkuri bahn
I wish they had focused just a bit more on the conversion at Daikanyama, specifically the connection of the tracks (the lowering of track sections from the original alignment)- the connection was completed with 10 minutes to spare. One interesting segment was at Shinjuku 3 chome Station on the Fukutoshin Line- as the line runs between the Marunouchi and Shinjuku Lines, it's like threading a needle- in order to clear the Shinjuku Line tunnel, there is a hump of 10cm in the middle section of the platform. The Fukutoshin Line tunnel clears the adjacent Shinjuku Line tunnel by a mere 11cm! Edited March 21, 2013 by bikkuri bahn Link to comment
