Matteo_IT
Hello everybody, I received today the N Kato DF.200 Red Bear, the model comes unlettered but with a numbered sheet. Unlikely, instruction sheet is all in japanese :( I supposed the sheet was a dry transfer... I cut a little piece and tryed to apply but numbers don't stay glued to the body... How I can do? Regards, Matteo. Link to comment
clem24
Turin? Where does Massimo live? Maybe he can help you LOL... Anyway yeah those are dry transfers. Remove the backing, cut out a piece (I actually leave everything on since there are guidelines built into the transfer sheet), and use a burnishing tool or the tip of something pointy yet blunt (tip of a Bic pen cap is usually good) and press down to transfer.. Matteo_IT
Yes... It's the same operation I made... but without success... may be the transfer is old (no good glue)? Who is Massimo? Is he a N enthusiast? Do you have a contact? Link to comment

3railgreg
Peel and stick maybe?? My KATO Unitram station kit had all peel and stick, no dry transfer. About all I can offer. Link to comment
CaptOblivious
Every Kato model I've had were peel and stick…second trying that. Link to comment
sedril
If it is a dry transfer, Kato USA has a video on how to do it: 2 Link to comment
westfalen
Dry transfers must be new to Kato, everything I've had to date has had peel and stick decals. Link to comment
Densha
The Kato destination sign decals I have are peel and stick, and for locomotive numbers usually number plates are used. But I think these are the decals Matteo does have: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10052152n/40/1 Edited February 20, 2013 by Densha Link to comment

Matteo_IT
Hello, here is the result... Link to comment
clem24
Those are not dry transfers but are adhesive backed photo-etched parts. They definitely look better than the number boards, which look nothing like the real thing. Link to comment
Densha
Indeed that does look very good. Good to know this type also exists. Link to comment
