bronzeonion
Hi everyone, I am going to Japan in March/April time to see family for a couple of weeks and am planning to go to Aizu Wakamatsu. After all this time watching the webcam I am going to visit the station itself and am planning to catch the Aizu Liner service to or from Koriyama/Aizu Wakamatsu. I have read that with a Japan Rail Pass 'Liner' trains require an additional ticket, like the coupons you buy from the machines at Shinjuku or Tokyo to use the 'Home Liner' trains but does the Aizu Liner count as a 'Liner' train as it is classed as a 'Rapid' train. Hope you can help, thanks! 1 Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
The Aizu Liner is a regular rapid service (a cut above a local), not the all reserved seat liner services used by commuters. So your JR Pass is all you need. 1 Link to comment

E6系
There is merit in booking a reserved seat. The car is less crowded and the seating is better. Link to comment
