Stumbled upon this image, a real Bandai B Shorty!!  :)

That's the Yurakinome, the line out Odaiba from Shimbashi.  It's a wheeled guideway driverless train.  It's not the fastest way out there though:

Ive actually thought about doing a guided system loke this with btrain shorties.

Maybe not the fastest, but on the news today I heard that a 30 min. commute in Washington DC now takes 3 hours, and we waste on average over 800 gallons in fuel sitting in traffic.

But we Americans thrive on gridlock and traffic with a dismal mass transit system. Thanks for the video Jcarlton.

 

What a great little layout this would make Jeff, maybe Tomix or KATO will come out with track to suit..!!

There are a number of these 'New Transit Systems' out here in Japanland. The Yurikamome is just one, maybe the most well known, example of them all.

 

In the 80s and 90s, a lot of experimenting was going on with these systems, which resulted in quite a lot of short lines made into new city and port developent areas. Other examples are the Yamaman Yuukarigaoka line, Seibu Leo Liner, Yokohama New Transit Sea Side Liner, Kobe New Transportation, etc. etc.
