looks to be lasercut chipboard like a sankai kit. appears to be their first structure offering in a new line. kit looks nicely detailed and they use the good laser chipboard that you can do the colored etching with to get some brick patterns and roof tiles.

looks like they will be doing the shime coal mine winding tower. very cool looking building

Anyway it's quite a nice structure, just that the color really doesn't appeal to me... But that's just me..

That school looks so very nice. I think schools are idea for if you need urban filling on your layout on the cheap. The building takes up about 1/3 of the total school ground, of which the rest is the school yard, swimming pool and sports complex. Of course, such a small schoolbuilding wouldn't take up much space here, but would be a nice addition to a layout nonetheless.

 

The coal tower also looks badass! I can already imagine a post-apocalyptic or fantasy setting for it after reading about the zombie apocalypse thing... Just imagine the heavily armored trains, or the landscape the trains will be traveling through. Hahaha.

the shime tower is apparently a tourist attraction. we had a thread on it a couple of years back. local town built a playground right next to it. perfect for the zombies to come crawling out of the tower chasing children away, perfect opener to a good/bad horror flick. birds chirping, kids playing, moms talking, then behind them you see the zombies pov from the tower -- watching and grunting... you fill in the rest.

would definitely be a big what the heck is that thing to have on the layout! with a laser cutter this would be super simple to do!

just occurred to me you could turn the whole tower into a giant playground. zip lines, long spiral slides, floors for paintball, repelling lines... a kids dream!
