Needed Shinkansen station pictures

So we are thinking about redoing the JRM shinkansen station. Currently its basically a 3m kato viaduct station with the station sides and platforms. while it works well and is pretty prototypical of the basic shinkansen stations in most cities, i have been thinking about the possibility of doing something a little more attractive with some sort of architectural roof over the center third of the station. Ive been looking for potential prototypes but not found many that are in urban areas in japan. most of the fancier roofs are in more suburban areas w/o many buildings near the station. its a long narrow elevated station about 25cm/10" wide by 3m/10' long. we have 4 tracks at ground level in front of it for local/express trains with kato platforms on 2/3rds the length and the last third is open for a station front with city buildings coming up to it. back side of the station is basically blank as its at the back edge of the modules.

anyone got any picts/ideas for this?

Hi cteno4,

In March 2012 I took some photos of Shinkansen Stations on the Kanto Plain and posted them in the Forum Gallery "Japanese Prototypes".

I was interested in the car, bus, bicycle, people interface with the stations, multistorey carparks, bus stops etc.  I have just added a photo of a huge area of bicycle racks next to a Kanto Shinkansen which I took as my Shinkansen went through the station.

I've done oodles of google image searches, just hoping some one might have an interesting favorite.

Unfortunately not enough space on the modules to tackle Tokyo station!

I like the stations on the Kyushu Shinkansen:

(Shin Tosu, Shin Tamana, and Kumamoto)

My all-time favorite is the early Shin-Osaka Station before the surrounding area was built up.  The station was built predominantly of steel, rather than reinforced concrete, giving a more sleek appearance, and the curving zairaisen tracks underneath are aesthetically appealing.

Jeff,

Starting this coming Saturday I will be in Tokyo for three months. I will be running around the city and would be willing to try and get you specific images if you would like. I am also planning on modeling a Shinkansen Station. Send me a personal email with request and I will try my best to get you images.

Lots and lots of pictures of Tokyo Station from all sides, angles and platforms please ;) I may not have room for the entire station, but that doesn't mean I can't build part of it ;)
