Densha
A Sayonara service can't go unnoticed. It looks like JR Central will be replacing its 117 series with the 313 series in the March timetable revision.I can't get more information out of it with google translate. I really like the first photo of the video. 2 Link to comment
bill937ca
Did you try the JR Tokai pdf? See # 6. http://jr-central.co.jp/news/release/_pdf/000017068.pdf Edited January 6, 2013 by bill937ca 1 Link to comment
Densha
I looked at it, but I can't really find out what the timetable exactly means because it's Japanese. What I forgot though is that the description of the video seems to tell that from December 2012 on the 117 series will partly be replaced and in February 2013 completely by the 313 series. miyakoji
It just says 120 of the 313 series have now been brought into service, so all 117s on the Tokaido Line within JRC's area will be retired. Those 120 313s aren't all of them, but one or a few specific, recent subseries, I think. Link to comment
Ochanomizu
Good riddence! The seats on these trains are so uncomfortable. Link to comment
