Sacto1985
nimo5--who was in the Okayama area around December 23, 2012--filmed a bunch of railroad action around Okayama Station on the San'yō Main Line level of the station: Note the KiHa 40/47 (?) DMU's coming in from the Tsuyama and Kibi lines, 115 Series EMU's coming in from the Akō Line, the Marine Liner EMU to Takamatsu over the Great Seto Bridge, the Shiokaze EMU to Matsuyama over the Great Seto Bridge, the Yakumo EMU from Izumo/Matsue coming in via the Hakubi Line, and freight trains on their way in and out of Nishi-Okayama Yard just west of the station. 3 Link to comment

miyakoji
It's a KIHA47/40 set (in order) going to Tsuyama. The livery appears to be a promotion for a local product of the town of Misaki, "kifuku monogatari" (I think) which is some kind of egg/soy sauce thing: http://www.town.misaki.okayama.jp/kankou/tamago/misaki.htm, http://www.yamazato-kume.net/?pid=14893194 . The Tsuyama Line's Obara and Kamenoko stations are in the town limits. I knew I'd seen this before: From 3:00, you can see some pictures of Misaki, and after that, the raw egg and soy sauce mixed into rice. From 3:40, you can see Kamenoko Station (kame is turtle, hence the terrifying turtle head built into the station's roof), and the yellow and black banner on the right side of the screen is for this product. This video is on Okayama Prefecture's channel, there's lots of other interesting stuff out there although recently it seems to be all sports related. Older uploads feature local cultural and historical stuff. The second car's livery is for the 1300th anniversary of the establishment of Mimasaka Province. I think this encompassed what is now Misaki, although the present day Mimasaka City is smaller than the old province and east of Misaki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misaki,_Okayama Obara Station: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%B0%8F%E5%8E%9F%E9%A7%85 Kamenoko Station: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%BA%80%E7%94%B2%E9%A7%85 http://www.mimasaka1300.org/ 1 Link to comment
cteno4
Miyakoji, Thanks very much! Great info as alway! Both would make great tomytec models. May already have been done locally already in a small special run. Jeff Link to comment
Sacto1985
miyakoji-san, question: was this song in the YouTube video you posted sung in the Okayama dialect? It certainly didn't sound like the "normal" Japanese I hear on Japanese drama and anime shows.... Link to comment

Yes, it features some common Okayama words like the ja and jaro endings, although that's in other western dialects too Link to comment
