marknewton
If I've understood this blog post correctly, well-known rail photographer and author Naotaka Hirota celebrated his 77th birthday in style recently, with a party on board the beautiful interurban car No.101 of the Jomo Tetsudo. Half his luck! http://drfc-ob.com/wp/?p=27917 Cheers, Mark. 3 Link to comment

KenS
Now that's my idea of how to have a party! Link to comment
marknewton
It's a great way to party. When my son Harry had his 5th birthday, we held his party at the Sydney Tramway Museum where I'm a member. He loved it! Cheers, Mark. 1 Link to comment
Ochanomizu
You made a birthday train just for your son? Link to comment
marknewton
Yes, we did. He loved it, so did his friends and relatives. The adults had fun, too! :) I'm part of the volunteer workforce at the tramway museum, I do airbrake and mechanical work there, so it wasn't hard to organise. Our first choice of tram was to be "Madame Butterfly" - our ex-Nagasaki car No.1054 - but she had some electrical problems that prevented her from running that day, so we used the Bendigo Birney car instead. Either way, we had the car to ourselves, and many happy guests! Cheers, Mark. Link to comment
