And the shinkansen earth-quake response braking system using ceramic powder helps in the event of earth quakes to prevent further damages... Bless Japan please. They have enough of diasters already. Grant Sorry, it was 7.3 on the Richter Magnitude Scale and according to NHK News, it was 5 minus on the Japan Meteorological Agency seismic intensity scale. Link to comment

The Tohoku Shinkansen has suspended operations between Kitakami and Shin-Aomori. Services are supposed to resume on the Tohoku Shinkansen at 20:50, but right now it's unknown if it has. *Update NHK has reported that Tohoku Shinkansen service has been restored as of 21:00 Link to comment
