Sacto1985 Posted December 2, 2012 Share Posted December 2, 2012 You got to see this video posted by raraemondayo777 of a SL (steam locomotive) charter trip from Kiryū Station on the Ryōmō Line west to Takasaki Station, consisting of JNR C61-20, fourteen passenger cars and EF65-501 in the consist: Note the HUGE number of railfans near the tracks, especially east of Shin-Maebashi Station. It's not surprising that this charter train used the Ryōmō Line, since charter trains with modified 485 "Joyful Train" trainsets run over this line a lot. Link to comment
Densha Posted December 2, 2012 Share Posted December 2, 2012 Is this normal for steam trains in Japan? I know they attract many people, but this much? It almost looks like that Kyushu Shinkansen opening commercial. I found it somewhat remarkable that there were several people waving from a cemetery in the first few minutes... Link to comment
