Tremendous time sink here, I found this Wikipedia user's page, he's got lots of good images:

The 'picture menu' is pretty cool, so I picked Okayama.  Found this image of the "Prohibition Hall" built in Taisho 12 (1923).  Interesting structure, seems northern European to me, but I know nothing about architecture.
