Guest Closed Account 1
Using Kato #4 Switches to create a passing siding within a loop are reversing modules necessary? See pics. Each #4 switch is power routing with frog power off. Each loop has one set of feeders. Is this correct for DCC or DC use? FYI- The five 29mm pieces have been replaced with one custom length track. CaptOblivious
Short answer: Yes, reversing modules are needed. Reason: If you can trace a reversing loop through any part of the trackwork, you will encounter along that path a polarity reversal at some point. So you will need some method of dealing with it (depending on DC/DCC, etc). And, in the top you can trace one such route; in the bottom picture two such routes. 1 Link to comment
Guest Closed Account 1
Thanks, I was troubleshooting this with 9V batteries this afternoon and in the end decided to remove it all until we go DCC. Add in lighted trains and newbies and it could get ugly. Link to comment
