Problems with uploading profile pic

I have had problems trying to upload a new picture on my profile.  All original picture are within memory size limits.  For some reasons it seems pictures of trains or scenery will upload, but simpler pics (namely signs) almost always won't upload.  Wonder what the problem is.

This post had escaped my attention, and I apologize. I cannot possibly imagine what is going on—I wish we had an advanced artificial intelligence that could discriminate train images from non-train images, it could be recruited in our ongoing anti-spam efforts…but alas, we do not.
