cteno4
nice little demo of doing vineyard vines to make your own japanese vineyard, they exist! not quite as tedious as planting your own rice plants... http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/9535 i like the guy's sense of humor. jeff 1 Link to comment
Krackel Hopper
Amazing! At first glance, I thought that had to be HO scale. Video is a great "how-to" and makes me feel like I could make these fairly easy. This is going on the list as another module to create.. once I (if I ever) commit to a specific modular design. cteno4
I want the hairspray that goes to 11. In grad school I made our lab stereo go to 11' was fun to watch folks reaction when they noticed! Interesting little green houses on these vines in japan? http://ojisanjake.blogspot.com/2010/03/okuizumo-vineyard.html#.UIYOLmt5mSM Cheers Jeff Link to comment

bikkuri bahn
I can think of one place near the tracks in Japan that has plenty of vines- and that's on the Chuo Main Line in Yamanashi- specifically at Katsunumabudoukyou Station. A view in autumn from a train descending the grade (sounds like a good 'ol 115 unit, its mt54's roaring away): This one is more focused on the trains and the cherry blossoms, but you can see a few of the vineyards in the background of some scenes: *that sukairo 115 unit at 1:35 looks just as clean as when it left the factory, the car sides positively gleam (beautiful sound too)...
