miyakoji
Here's a ride at night from Okayama to Takamatsu, replete with Seto Ohashi section, on the Marine Liner. YT contributor is JRwtrains, who has a lot of good zenmen tenbou videos, including the 381 series Yakumo on the Hakubi Line and both the 381 and 283 on the Hanwa Line as Kuroshio limited express. Some background on the Seto Ohashi line and service: While I think of this as the Seto Ohashi Line, and have usually seen it referred to just as that, there are actually two other names for sections of it. From Okayama down to Chayamachi it's also the Uno Line, and from Chayamachi to Utazu it's the Honshi-Bisan Line, which I don't think I ever saw or heard until checking wikipedia. Until the opening of the bridge on April 10, 1988, there was a ferry from Uno to Takamatsu. With the opening of the bridge to rail and road traffic, the JR West and JR Shikoku started the Marine Liner service. These days, the consists are 223 series 5000 subseries sets with the JR Shikoku 5000 series car with first class seats at the Takamatsu end. Previously, the service was run with late JNR-era 213s, almost identical in appearance to the JNR/JRC 211s. This configuration also had a first-class car, classified KURO212, also at the Takamatsu end of the train.
