Jansen - how are the two layouts you're working on coming along, anything new?

 

Nothing new with my layout yet, going to Japan in 3 weeks then its [glow=red,2,300]ON[/glow]

 

My friends layout is coming along nicely, track is down and have started the scenery, will upload some pics later.

 

Have fun in Japan, I'm curious if the Portrams by either Kato or Tomytec are in stock in the stores or if they are sold out already.

Working on your friend's layout is a great experience, you've probably have learned a "ton of things" already.

Hi, yes the trams were in stock both at Kato's factory shop and at Tam Tam Hobby Shop.

 

Pics of some track I bought at Tam Tam's, Akihabara. These 3 sets can make the layout in the last picture. I still need to buy more track though.  

 

P.S. I bought an 8 car N700 Kato set for around USD110!

That was a great price on the N700.

Where there a lot of Kato Portrams in stock and out of curiosity do you remember the price they were selling at?

Yes. what I saw was Tomix not Kato, the Kato Factory has some Tomy/Tomix stuff for sale but dont remember the price.

 

Kato had a display of its all in one set.
