DanMacK
Hey all. After looking at current and older maps of Hokkaido, Ive settled on an area for my fictional Shintahara Railway. The planned route runs west from Kanayama on the Nemuro line through the mountains to Minami Oyubari to interchange with the now gone Yubari railway. What Im looking for is the layout of Kanayama Station. I can get some info from photos and satellite but a drawing would be awesome. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
My advice to you would be to use the adequate photographic resources and come up with your own plans. The station appears to be a rather standard design, so looking at similar types in Hokkaido should also be indicative. Even better, a visit to the actual station, as you can measure and photograph the prototype. Being as this station was first built in 1900, chances are that any plans are extant are slim to none, and slim has left the building. Link to comment
DanMacK
Well, I'm on the other side of the world to visit it, so that's not an option at the moment :) The station building itself I'm not too worried about, I'm mainly concerned with the current track layout. There are a couple of what look like maintenance sheds near the station. I've used Google Street View to plot where the line would likely branch off, but I need to figure out where my line's platform would be. Thanks Link to comment
