Spaceman Spiff
G'day, the club I belong to is considering to add some powered n scale turbines to a module. I see that Tomytec makes some. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10170074 Any one have comments on it? Does it run ok on solar under normal room lighting or can you power it via normal power? Thanks Spiff Link to comment
westfalen
I'd try and power them from another source, that base with the solar panel isn't exactly to scale. Link to comment
Spaceman Spiff
I'm not a fan of the base either. Can it be hard wired? Spiff Link to comment
cteno4
You could easily wire in your own power, something probably in the 2-3v range instead of the solar cells. I really doubt the solar cells will work under normal indoor illumination. There are some other options out there. A lot of this is outlined in a couple of previous threads on the forum http://www.jnsforum.com/index.php/topic,3909.0.html http://www.jnsforum.com/index.php/topic,5883.0.html Unfortunately, most of the desktop models that were out there on some of the discount sites are now gone. They were pretty similar to the tomytec. The faller/modelpower is quite nice as well. Jeff Link to comment
