Tomytec Wind Turbine

G'day, the club I belong to is considering to add some powered n scale turbines to a module.  I see that Tomytec makes some.

Any one have comments on it? Does it run ok on solar under normal room lighting or can you power it via normal power?

I'd try and power them from another source, that base with the solar panel isn't exactly to scale.

I'm not a fan of the base either. Can it be hard wired?

You could easily wire in your own power, something probably in the 2-3v range instead of the solar cells. I really doubt the solar cells will work under normal indoor illumination.

Unfortunately, most of the desktop models that were out there on some of the discount sites are now gone. They were pretty similar to the tomytec. The faller/modelpower is quite nice as well.
