JR 500系
Hi friends, stumbled upon this while skiving from my work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Used-Kato-N-Scale-SD40-SD70M-SD70MAC-SD80MAC-SD90-43MAC-RDC-1-Locomotives-/130743091575?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1e70e54177 WOW! 11 engines! Good luck bidding anyone? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Large-Lot-of-Lightly-Used-Kato-Unitrack-/130743111050?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1e70e58d8a Now this is rather tempting! Look at ALL those tracks! But since i'm not in US that rules me out due to the fact it will cost a hand and a leg to ship them over... Link to comment
JR 500系
Wow now this is interesting! Bidding on Plaza Japan, and for a very popular train nowadays! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Swiss-Alps-Glacier-Express-7-cars-Kato-10-1145-10-1146-N-scale-/360602610888?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item53f5972cc8 Anyone keen? IST
I am very curious what will be the end price. Currently it is USD 162, only less by USD 25 than the original price. (It was USD 187 when I bought one.) And the auction ends in 3 days. I really do not understand those 11 bids: you have to win an auction at the end, so it does not worth to bid in the very beginning. JR 500系
Yes IST, point noted. Which i believe which is why Plaza Japan is switching to bidding system more and more: List here: http://stores.ebay.com/Plaza-Japan/_i.html?rt=nc&LH_Auction=1&_sid=169030440&_trksid=p4634.c0.m309 Well there's even a tomix E259 NEX basic set! Really curious to see the end price too... And having a good laugh as to why one would bid for one and ended up paying more than what was readily available through 'Buy-It-Now'... Perhaps it's the trill of tracking, bidding, snipping and winning the auction? I almost never enter into an auction on ebay less i'm pretty sure the items cant be available elsewhere, and there is a high chance that the winning bid price will be cheaper than the RSP.. Happened to me twice on ebay wit my NIB Kato 10-421 (Series 313 basic set) at US$80 and NIB Kato 10-221 (E3 Komachi shinkansen) at US$160 which is still quite alright... Link to comment
JR 500系
Oh wow! The Glacier express is now US$198.50, with 1 more day to go! Someone is happy, i'm certain ~ Link to comment
JR 500系
And it ended... No price for guessing the final sold price! Guess someone (plaza japan) is VERY happy... http://www.ebay.com/itm/360602610888?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Link to comment
Claude_Dreyfus
Holy s***! That is more than twice what I paid from mine at HS! Good luck to Plaza...if he can get those sorts of prices, then good luck to him. I hope, however, this does not mean he gradually drops the BIN prices... Link to comment
JR 500系
Unfortunately Claude, that WILL be the case if it does generates even more profit for Plaza... As seen here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Swiss-Alps-Glacier-Express-7-cars-Kato-10-1145-10-1146-N-scale-/121077561904?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1c30c8fa30 Guess we wouldn't be seeing this set ever in BIN mode... Wonder what happened to the final price of the Tomix E259 basic set though... Link to comment
E6系
And many retailer are cheaper than HS too. So Japanese customers are very bemused by the outcome. Link to comment
JR 500系
I just dont get it... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Swiss-Alps-Glacier-Express-7-cars-Kato-10-1145-10-1146-N-scale-/121077561904?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1c30c8fa30 Guessing no more BIN Glacier Express anymore on PJ... The price is... wow... as compared to BIN. Those who got it off PJ BIN will be laughing now. It also opens up alot of chances for 'scaplers', a term we usually use in Lego as being referred to people who takes advantages of sales to buy in bulk and then re-sell them at crazy profits later... No doubt the Glacier express is nice, but i dont get the hyped over it for buying it at crazy prices... Link to comment

Hello JR, I think the double decker carriage is for the 200-2000 model: This is Tomix. 92625+2824+(3x2825)+(4x2826)+(2x2830) = 16-Car consist with double decker cars. Transfers supplied to make H3 or H4 consist, from memory. The three extra cars can be used to make formations using 237 car, such as F set or original 13 car H set. E6系
I was going to bid. If someone is interested in this set then I shall refrain. Please let me know. Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
Keep in mind that that set is fairly old, and the quality of the trains isn't what it's like today. The shells are fairly thin, and the motors are noisy.. That said, it's still a lovely set ;) Link to comment
Minelayer
It's on my watch list and was planning to bid...but I will gladly step aside if you like E6. :) I really don't have room for a 16 car configuration anyway. Edited May 31, 2013 by Minelayer Link to comment
JR 500系
I've also watched it, just curious to see what is the final deal price... My layout cant handle a 16-car set too... Link to comment
E6系
It's already over $200. Interesting to see what it goes for. I will not bid. Link to comment
