VJM
This locomotive arrived this week, to pull my Arnold VSOE CIWLs. Below is a pic of the Baden 18.3 from Hobbytrain. Is this supposed to be a Kato? The motor is located in the tender with a shaft to the driving wheels in the loco. It's not a particularly smooth runner to begin with, and stalled quite a few times. A bit of a tap to the tender got it going again. After about 5 minutes backwards and 5 minutes forwards at medium to high speeds, it seems to run much better. Still a little bit of a waddle, but this loco can smoothly go right down to very low speeds. Detail on this model is excellent, with working front and rear lights. There's also a small bag of steps and other things included as well. I'll post a comparison of the Arnold VSOE CIWLs vs the Kato NIOE set a little later. 2 Link to comment
sedril
I was looking at this too. Unfortunately, it won't run on anything smaller than a 282 radius curve... Link to comment

Hobby Dreamer
Definitely a great looking train! Are you doing a steam-era layout? Cheers Rick Link to comment
