Mr Frosty
Just got lucky on ebay and managed to find one of the super rare Gaugemaster D'Luxe controllers. These have inbuilt inertia simulation and braking. Unlike their current range of cased controllers, these use long travel sliders instead of rotary potentiometers. Operating the regulator control, will cause the train (and LED indicators) to slowly increase to the set level. Shutting the regulator will cut power and the train will "coast" to a stop. Using the brake will bring the train to a controlled stop. This works in the same way as the Japanese cab controllers, but is somewhat cheaper. The "direct" setting on the brake control will cause the throttle to operate like a standard DC controller (without simulation). There are LED indicators for forward & reverse. It is also a dual channel controller and can control 2 separate train (on different tracks). Finally, there are fixed outputs of 12vDC and 16vAC to power accessories. If anyone is interested, my old Gaugemaster controller (with potentiometers) will be for sale soon. Link to comment
CaptOblivious
That is a very attractive throttle. Gives the impression of a backgammon board in its design. They sure don't make them like they used to, eh? Link to comment
