Early Typhoon in Japan

From the Mainichi on-line news:

 

Bullet trains on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line came to a halt on the night of June 19, and 7,430 passengers stayed overnight on trains parked at stations between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka, according to its operator, Central Japan Railway Co.

 

A total of 289 passengers and 10 workers stayed overnight on trains on the Tohoku Shinkansen Line at Tokyo and Sendai stations, respectively, East Japan Railway Co. officials said. Some bullet trains were delayed or others were canceled on June 20.

Heard the news last night... 74 injured, 1 dead in the typhoon... Just when Japan is starting to crawl out of the Tsunami/ Radiation scare and seeing increase in tourist numbers...

Earliest typhoon in 8 years.  Hope this won't be a heavy typhoon year.  Depends on the El nino/La nina cycle, I think.
