miyakoji
Kintetsu's 23000 series entered service from '93 to '95, and in time for next year's rebuilding of Ise Shrine, all six 6-car sets are getting refurbished. The first set is to be completed August 4th of this year, and the last is expected to be finished July of next year. Kintetsu has both 1067mm and 1435mm lines; this rolling stock is for the latter. Actually they've got 762mm and some funiculars and a ropeway also. I like Kintetsu a lot, they're the largest private railway in Japan connecting very urban and pretty darn rural areas and they have seemingly small numbers of lots of different models of rolling stock, all creating a nice bit of variety. tetsudou fan news: http://railf.jp/news/2012/06/18/084000.html hobidas news, with some interior renderings: http://rail.hobidas.com/news/info/article/132727.html info on the rebuilding of the shrine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ise_Grand_Shrine#Rebuilding_the_Shrine Link to comment

Sacto1985
I can't wait for see what the real rebuilt trainsets will look like when they start reaching passenger service starting in a few months. (By the way, I like the Kintetsu, but their main station at Osaka Uehommachi is just too far away from convenient connections, unlike the stations at Umeda and Namba that serve JR West, Hankyu, Hanshin and Nankai railways.) miyakoji
two videos of the first set to be updated: two arrival/departure scenes by YT contributor akanetomo30000vistEX: the interior and a mostly side-window ride from Kyoto to Nara by kl3200kei. He also gets footage of the tail-end driver's station from about 15:30: Link to comment
