ToniBabelony
That is some seriously inspirational stuff! It almost makes me want to break-down my own DT-Trak module and start anew with different levels... :P Link to comment

Martijn Meerts
There's some Ponyo in there, so it can't possibly be bad =) Link to comment
linkey
@Dave, please check your e-mail :) if you haven't heard from Brian please contact me and I will nudge Brain again :P @Jeff, yes the person who has created this is a member of the AJMRG, his name is Alan and he is very good in modelling not just in Japanese Layouts but also model ships and Gunpla. @Martijn, yes it is from Ponyo but also a real Japanese town too. We had an attendee at the Japan Festival who made a comment that the fishing town was very close to her town where she lived. Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
Linkey, I wouldn't be surprised if Ghibli based the town in Ponyo on a real town (maybe even the same one you mention), since they have a habit of basing things on real life and just adding some magic. Maybe that's why their movies are so successful ;) Ponyo is awfully cute though, gave me (almost, but not quite) the same good feeling as Totoro did =) Link to comment
keitaro
marti you are right. Alot of his inspiration came from australian things. I.e. the bakery in kiki is from tasmania and still exists, The big catterpillars ayres rock, and even mononoke's boar is based on a statue in sydney. Theres several other things as well i can't think of to date. I saw it on a japanese showing few years back and theres sites that talk about it too. It is a shame that the house on totoro was burnt down by arson. this is the ponyo town you are reffering too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomonoura Link to comment
