Nick_Burman
BB will like this one...two diesel limited expresses in Hokkaido formed of a hodgepodge of diesel cars (reminds me of some SNCF local trains in the Massif Central in the 1980's...). Cheers NB 2 Link to comment
miyakoji
Great video end to end, although I particularly like the KIHA52 and DD51 waiting at Shintoku Station. They really have gotten good service out of the DD51s and DE10s. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
As miyakoji said, the Shintoku arrival scene is the highlight of this video. DD51 on the point of a general merchandise freight, wonderful stuff. I think the local train on track 1 is a kiha 12 type rather than a kiha 52. This was still the era when Hokkaido area ltd. expresses and many expresses were scheduled to connect with the Seikan ferries, the introduction of widebody airliners like ANA's Tristars on the Haneda-Chitose route would soon change that. The_Ghan
Yeah... but the music should have changed to Titanic after 4:00... Cheers The_Ghan Link to comment
miyakoji
Bikkuri, yeah, you're right, I wasn't familiar with the KIHA12 but I just did a search and there are a lot of results that mention Hokkaido. The doors appear to be very close behind the cab area, whereas the 52's were back a bit more. Link to comment
