Foreign visitors to Japan in April returns to pre-tsunami level

Visitor levels in Japan have returned to pre-tsunami levels. Still, most visitors are from Asian countries. Canadian visitors were down 11.9%.

Good to hear that, I actually expected it to take even longer. But seriously, a 665% increase of visitors from Hong Kong? That's a miraculously! But if the tsunami (and mainly the nuclear disaster) didn't happen, then Japan maybe would have had the most visitors since years, because of those new flight companies.

I think the Hong Kong numbers reflect cheap airfares whereas Canada and France probably show a decline in tour packages. If packages don't sell tour companies cancel the packages, but airlines cut fares to fill flights.
