200系
Back in April, JR East retired another piece of equipment from the JNR era*. Build between 1985~1989 they are one of the more obscure JNR types among the larger series, nonetheless I've always liked the look of them. Enjoy this video by youtube user: ayokoi, Including a nice line up of a 211系, 185系 and Izukyū equipement. Enjoy! Sander *retired from the Tōkaidō/Itō Line, not sure if JR East still runs them on other lines, Tokai still runs them AFAIK. 1 Link to comment
Densha
Hopefully they will stay in service though, because I would like to see them in person when I finally go to Japan, not that I know when I will though. Link to comment

Bob_NZ
This is terrible news! It seems like years just getting my layout to the stage where track is finally down and connected. Here I am, currently rolling out my 5x 211 units and testing them before going into scheduled service ... and now Keitaro brakes this news ... my 'modern day' trains are now obsolete! ToniBabelony
Too bad about the 211 Series being drawn out of service on the Tokaido line. I don't recall riding a 211 on it, but I did have a run in the then still operating 113 Series to Yokohama. On the Takasaki line however, I did quite a long run in a 211 Series. Good ride, but pretty boring IMO. Not so interesting in comparison to a 103 (rode some a few times on the Musashino line), 113 or 201 Series. Link to comment
