Densha
I've always wondered why certain places/rail companies don't want pictures to be taken. I know they do difficult in Spain at least, but in Japan?! That's the ideal rail fanning country of the world and they don't allow photo cameras? I don't get it. Funny though that he decided to make a video, the sign doesn't say that taking videos isn't allowed. Link to comment

The sign asks that you refrain taking pictures (snapshots) of the Tokyo Sky Tree from the platform area, due to the dangers involved (people will be looking up rather than being aware of their surroundings). Intended for tourists/general public (and their blasted cellphone cameras!) and not at railfans taking pictures of trains, who in general are very aware of the platform edges and safe angles to take pictures. That is what I suspected and also there may be fear of mobs of people wanting photos in the early days of the new attraction everybody wants to see. Link to comment
bill937ca
As for the tower itself, there's an article here. Link to comment
Densha
Ah, right. Now that you say it I recognize some katakana that can be pronounced as something like Sky Tree from that sign, my fault. Link to comment
Guest ___
I can see tourists looking up with a cellphone camera at the tower and walking right off the platform. I saw a girl last month in mid-town trying to compose a shot of the Chrysler Building with her phone and walk right in to a parked taxi. Link to comment

I think, as is often the case, they just haven't gone into as much detail with the English part of the sign. Link to comment
JR 500系
Speaking of the Skytree, which reminds me of the latest Skytree set Tomytec is coming out with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88BxDyQrLQg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tnBcJOL4n0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un7E1lWW6GU It's pure posion! However, it's not N scale though... But a nice display for your desk! Link to comment
westfalen
There was a photo of an N scale version someone had made in an issue of RM Modeller a while back. It was about 4 metres (just over 13 feet) tall. Link to comment
