200系
Thanks for the vid's, Bikuri bahn. Good to see the 200系 back on the Tohoku Shinkansen again, even though it was only for a day. Seems to me the only type missing would be an E2-100/1000. For those interested, on the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Tohoku Shinkansen on the 23th of June there will be a 200系 special run as well (Yamabiko Omiya-Morioka) which leaves Omiya at 9:09 JST and arives at Morioka at 12:02 JST (if the site I got my info from is correct). Guess they'll use K47 for this run as well, shame the only 200系 cars that where actually present at the 1982 opening (K21 formation, cars 2~4 7~9 (formaly E30 formation)) where retired and scrapped in January . The_Ghan
Thanks for this great post. The E4 always seems to have a dirty forehead. Is it static electricity from the air flow that causes dirt to build up there? Any ideas anyone? Cheers The_Ghan Link to comment

Dirty roofs on traction equipment usually comes from carbon used to reduce friction between the current collector (a pantograph in this case) and the overhead or catenary. Link to comment
Guest ___
Omiya is swamped with railfans on a normal day, I'd hate to be there for this event. I do like the fact that they used a lottery for RF's to get in to see the line up. Link to comment
