bikkuri bahn
REGULAR commuters fear significant travel delays will result from ongoing mechanical problems in one of four Queensland Tilt Trains to service central and northern Queensland. Queensland Rail (QR) will replace one of its fleet of Tilt Trains with a slower diesel engine while contractors address ongoing mechanical difficulties. The train has not been able to reach speeds it should be capable of because of a malfunctioning auxiliary power converter, but a spokeswoman for QR stressed it had not affected braking capabilities. http://www.frasercoastchronicle.com.au/story/2012/05/18/repairs-force-tilt-train-off-the-rails/ Link to comment
westfalen
Not a big deal, it's been done often in the past somtimes for months at a time while the Tilt Train sets have been in the shops for regular overhauls, it's what happens when you only buy just enough trainsets to run the service. Good times for railfans though getting the chance to ride and photograph an extra loco hauled train, IMHO an extra three hours in a comfortable old Sunlander car is a better trip than a shorter one in a Tilt Train anyway.
