Kato N Wheelsets

Need some help with dimensions.

 

Anyone know the part number for loose wheel sets with 14.32mm/0.563" Axle lengths? Not the whole truck.  33"

 

One option is using FVM-3303 Fox Valley Models. Axle lengths are 14.32mm/0.563".

 

I'm on a quest to replace all of my Misc brand concentric wheel sets with Kato Bullet train parts to streamline my parts inventory.

 

The Kato 800 Series uses the superseded part number 4356TD (WDT205) trucks. This axle fits just right even though the tread is narrower than the part that is to be replaced.

 

Rolling test differences are huge. The old truck frame with Kato wheel sets now roll the full distance of the 24" DCC Programming track.

 

Not as fast as a Kato trucks with power pickups because those have metal cups for the axle ends to ride in with a little grease. Great improvement.

 

Measurements of Kato 4356TD truck wheel set:

 

Wheel Dia 5.54mm/0.218" that translates into about 33" depending on scale.

 

14.32mm/0.563" Axle length.
