Nick_Burman
Hi all, By now many of you this list know that I'm working away from civilization and boarding at company lodgings. That means no cable TV...or rather, there is cable connection (I can see the cable coming into my room just as I write now) but I really don't feel like spending money on a TV set (and on cable provider fees) since I'm saving up for a trip early next year. But I have a fast and reliable Internet connection, which means I can watch TV over the web with relative ease - several of my workmates do so already. Question is, could someone please suggest a freebie software or site where I can tune into international channels? I'm interested in catching BBC (nice if I could tune into the UK channels), RAI, TV5, CNN, NHK and suchlike. Any ideas? Cheers NB Link to comment
mwsteele
How computer literate are you? I currently use, usenet with sabnzbd and sickbeard for all my TV, if you want more info shoot me a PM. Not sure if there are many foreign non-English shows though. Link to comment

Mr Frosty
Try UK Tv Guide, doesnt have any where as much content though. I also dont know if its the same deal with UK only though. Can you not find a proxy IP address to fool the system? http://www.tvguide.co.uk/ Link to comment
clem24
NHK World (English) is available for live streaming on their site http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/ As well it's available as an iOS app (I watch it a LOT on my iPad and it looks fantastic - I'd say between 480 and 720 in quality). It's essentially Japanese government propaganda TV I think but their variety of shows are excellent! Heck I live in Canada and watched a documentary about the Northern Lights.. In Canada hahahaha. It was way more entertaining and informative than any documentary that I've seen on the subject. SquidTV links to lots of sites: http://watch.squidtv.net/ Channels are kind of lame though, like usually independent channels. This is a pay service but looks great and can watch 6 minutes at a time I think: http://www.filmon.com/ I think there's also an iOS app for streaming CNN. Link to comment
