Darren Jeffries
Thanks to Martijn for designing a new look theme for JNS. I think we will all agree, it looks great. Please bear with us though as small tweaks will be made over time and there may be some teething issues. Please report anything you feel is missing or untoward. Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
Just a quick list of things that will be changed in the upcoming days/weeks: - buttons (the blue-ish ones, "reply", "new topic", etc.) - control buttons ("quote", "modify", "remove" etc.) - various font sizes - various colors all around to make certain things more readable Link to comment
Guest ___
It's pretty. Sorry still half asleep, will work on a better reply once I Wake up. Link to comment
to2leo
Thanks for the new look, I am still getting used to it. The theme looks more like the Cassiopeia train set in Japan. I would prefer the Shinkansen colours with blue and white, red and white or more contrasting colours like Fastech 360. But that's just me ;) Link to comment

Bernard
Martijn, Thanks for all the hard work you put into the design of the forum. It will take me a while to get used to but change is good (otherwise I'd still be wearing my nehru jacket and bell bottom pants from the 60's) Link to comment
railzilla
Wow great work. It looks cleaner and neater than the former version. Gratulations to the designer. Link to comment

alpineaustralia
Darren Since th enew format, I have noticed that the link "Show unread posts since last visit." sometimes doesnt work It seems to work about 80% of the time but not other times. For some reason, it seems to show no new posts when there are some and so I must trawl through the forum looking at each post to see if it has been added to. Has anyonme else experienced this? am I doing something to trigger this? etc etc? Alpine Link to comment

CaptOblivious
This sometimes happens to me too. I've noticed that if someone edits a new post, it shows up as "unread" when you browse the forum, but it doesn't show up in the "unread posts" page; that's about half of the cases that I see. The other half are…um…a mystery to me too. I'm not sure what can be done, it is most likely a bug in the forum software. I'll see if there're any updates available. Link to comment
alpineaustralia
It was not a problem under the old format and so I am wondering whether there is something in the new format that is triggering it. Perosnally, I really rely on the "show new posts" button as I find the site is gertting too large to just trawl through. Link to comment
Darren Jeffries
The other way around this is to click "Show recent forum posts" at the bottom of the forum index. This will snapshot all the recent posts to the forum. I fear that it is a software issue and not anything to do with the template. There have been 2 updates to the software in recent months and that may have triggered the bug. Hopefully other users of the software will have noticed this too and it will be fixed in future updates. I know that SMF are about to issue a full release of version 2 of the software which is currently on public beta. I have avoided using the beta software as there is zero support if something goes haywire. Link to comment
