seabilliau
Started running a brand new Hobbytrain Vectron Europa. Ran fine most of the day and now is stopping randomly and then just stopped. Will sort of run once pushed and then stopped again. I switched it over to the other track which has separate power nd was running a on other loco without problems. Same symptoms happened on the other rail. Im at a loss Link to comment

KenS
It could also be something like fine fibers or thread (from carpet, or cleaning pads) that got wrapped around an axle. Best thing to do is probably take a close look at the wheels/axles with a magnifying glass. And if that doesn't reveal any problems, take it apart, disconnect the trucks from the motor (usually there's a drive shaft you can unplug, but be careful; I've broken them, and replacements aren't easy to get) then try turning the wheels with a finger and see if the shaft connector turns, if not it's the truck assembly that's binding (and it's likely only of the trucks that's the problem) and you can focus your efforts on cleaning or replacing that one. If you've got any kind of warranty from the seller though, returning it for replacement may be a better solution. 1 Link to comment
seabilliau
Thanks. I'll try cleaning. I wanted to ask before I just started into opening things up. Link to comment
seabilliau
Huh, just needed a good cleaning. Pretty hairy in my house with a shedding dog and I'm learning how sensitive N gauge locos can be compared to O Gauge which makes sense. Thanks for the ideas. 1 Link to comment

Dog hair is a killer for N-gauge running gear; I speak from experience! Nice loco, BTW! Link to comment
