linkey
Got to feel sorry for the passengers of the Kyushu Shinkansen Services: http://www.japantimes.co.jp/rss/nn20120314x3.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter#.T2CFukAXrxo.facebook But at least they had toilets on the shinkansens if people need to go. bikkuri bahn
Six hours is a long time for a shinkansen delay. Here are some TV reports: (before resolution) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N11oVQTkjQs (post incident) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqpB5_QWgog Link to comment
westfalen
Something similar happened here in Brisbane a couple of weeks back when the overhead came down at Roma St one morning. All public transport in Brisbane was made free the next day to make up for the inconvenience. I wonder what JR will do to sooth their customers. Link to comment

I think JR Kyushu refunded the limited express portion of each affected passenger's ticket, at the least. Link to comment
