TaeOH
The turnout mechanism itself is fine, it is the current through the track I am having a problem with, the trains started to stutter across the feeder track and turnouts a week ago. It may be a dirt problem. I have two cats that both have jumped up on the Thomas table while the track has been set up. But I have tried my best to clean the turnouts with Life Like Track liquid track cleaner and a tooth brush, but no effect so I started to think it is an overall loose track connection issue. I would add feeders, but that requires splicing wire to connect more feeders to the power pack, that is what I meant about the plug thing, only one can go into the power pack, so no way to add feeders without rigging up some thing else. I think I am going to pull it all apart and clean every track by hand instead of trying to clean it in place. I already did it with the turnouts, but I cleaned all the other track in place. Maybe a couple other pieces are causing the problem and also just need a good cleaning. Link to comment
Bernard
TaeOH - do you have a voltage tester? It's not a bad idea to see if there is a drop in power at the turnouts. If there is one area that I will have problems on my layout it's will be in the yard where all the turnouts are. I've even had to attach a third feeder wire to some of the switches. Link to comment
