The incident took place on the Keihan train from Demachiyanagi to Nakanoshima at 7:50 a.m. on Feb 14 as the train reached Yawata, according to a Sankei Shimbun report. The man, who has been named as Hioki Tadaaki, allegedly inserted several CDs into the automatic door mechanism, causing it to malfunction. He was later arrested and reportedly confessed to the charges during police questioning. Keihan operators say that there have been seven other cases of trash being inserted into Keihan train door mechanisms since late January. Police are currently investigating the possibility of Tadaaki’s involvement, Sankei reported. Japan Today Link to comment
Mudkip Orange
This is an outrage. Completely uncalled for. I mean, if you're going to do something like this, do it across the river on the Hankyu. 3 Link to comment
westfalen
'Obstruction of Business'. In Brisbane he'd be told not to do it again and be sent on his way, that's if the police would be bothered dealing with it in the first place. Link to comment
Guest ___
In DC, not only would that have improved the quality of the railcars, but may have prevented them from opening while the cars were in motion (a new issue) of course at the same time, this comes from the same system that routinely places blame on customers for broken escalators and unscheduled track maintenance. Of course Metro's PAO also blamed passengers for being overweight as the cause for having to pre-emtivley having to shore up sagging platforms along the red line last fall as well. Link to comment
