Snow in Hakata!

It's not unusual for Northern Kyushu to get occasional winter snow even in the low lying areas.  Especially this year, being colder than usual (it's being said that this cold snap is a once every ten years event)

Well, I lived directly east of Hakata in Iizuka, and we got snow every year bar one in the 10 years I lived there. I had to drive over Yakiyama every day to get to work in the city, which was at times a pain in the rear when we got heavier falls.. But although to see Hakata get snow is not unusual. It is usually just a thin layer.. Iizuka and Yakiyama could get some quite significant falls...
