disturbman
Yeah, well, with this kind of weather there is plenty cold related deaths. I think since the very cold front started two weeks ago there has been more than 600 reported death in Europe, general cause: hypothermia. I'm sure he was not the only one to die in Japan because of the weather. Link to comment
marknewton
Sad, but not surprising. Australians, overseas travel and alcohol can often be a lethal combination. Mark. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
'No one hears you screaming in snow' Australians have been warned to restrain their "maverick" instincts to prevent more tourists from dying in the Japanese snow. David Fitzpatrick was taking an off-road track on his way home from a bar at a Japanese ski resort in the Niseko Hirafu area when he fell into an icy creek on Sunday morning. His death mirrors that of Brisbane skier Scott McKay in 2009, whose body was found two months after he left a Niseko bar in sub-zero temperatures. "It looks all safe, but if you do get off the beaten track and you're by yourself, you can die - very quickly," Marcus Dawe, owner of Niseko Lodge at the popular resort town on the northern island of Hokkaido, said. http://sl.farmonline.com.au/news/world/world/general/no-one-hears-you-screaming-in-snow/2459214.aspx Link to comment
